Recently director Shankar is said to have approached Kamal to play the villain opposite Rajini in Enthiran 2` which he has reportedly declined.

In an interview to a leading Tamil weekly to a query whether Kamal and Rajini will act together, the Ulaganayagan replied that their decision not to work together in the past was a result of economical self defense for both and he conceded that the climate now has turned favorable for them to work together again.
