Kangana Ranaut continues to justify her controversial remarks about Indias freedom

Actress Kangana Ranaut recently landed herself amidst a controversy after she made an ignorant remark during the Times Now Summit about India's freedom. She has stated that India's freedom in 1947 was just a "bheekh" and the nation attained real freedom in 2014 with BJP government coming into power. Naturally, her statements caused huge backlash for ignoring the sacrifices and struggle of freedom fighters and many political leaders even demanded a apology from her.

The actress is now trying to justify her statement by sharing her views about India's freedom struggle. She took to her Instagram stories and wrote, "Our nation builders did not hold the British accountable for the countless crimes they committed in India, from plundering our country’s wealth to ruthlessly killing our freedom fighters to dividing our country into two parts, at the time of independence. After World War II, the British left India at their leisure, with Winston Churchill being hailed as a war hero."

After a series of such stories, Kangana concluded by stating, "Did the freedom fighters who gave their lives for an independent India know that the British and our nation-builders would divide undivided India into two parts, resulting in the massacre of one million people? I’d like to conclude by saying that if we don’t hold the British accountable for the numerous crimes committed in India, we are still disrespecting our freedom fighters. Jai Hind."

However, all these statei have little to do with her original statement which caused the whole controversy.
