Actor Karan has his hands full with films 'Kanakavel Kaaka', 'Kandha', 'Sundaram' and 'Malayan'. The first of these releases, ‘Malayan’, has him playing a worker in a fireworks company in Sivakasi. “The film concentrates on the plight of these workers and the entire community as such,” says the actor.

Wishing him luck on the movie’s audio launch was director SA Chandrasekar, whose protégé Gopi directs the film. Calling Karan an actor close to his heart, SA Chandrasekar said he knew how hard it is to struggle and make it big and that was how even his career has been. He also pointed out Karan’s determination in saying No to character and second hero roles, trying to make it big as a hero.

The film has music by Dheena and is produced by Three Sum productions. Speaking at the audio launch was actress Shammu, for whom this is the first heroine role. “I’ve acted in 'Dasavathaaram' and 'Mayilu', apart from 'Kanchivaram', but this film is special to me. I really like the character, and this is also the first audio function of my film that I am attending,” said the actress.
