His last flick was highly controversial. He highlighted a critical issue in the society that is getting common in our world lesbianism. Nevertheless his film did fairly good business at the box office and so did the actresses.

The director of 'Girlfriend'- Karan Razdan has now returned with a different film for a different class of audience. This time it is not a controversial film but a film on a very sensitive issue- old age. Titled 'Umar' this film stars Prem Chopra, Satish Kaushik and Kader Khan in mature and roles of old men.

The film highlights the problems that old age brings with it and that stay perennially with one. The sunny side is that there are seasoned and mature actors doing their best bit to highlight the problems that have long stayed in the director's heart.

Writer-director Razdan firmly holds to all his subjects that he has made films on be it Hawas, Girlfriend or Umar. He does not seem to care much for people who badmouth his films. He holds Umar close to him because after a long time there is Manna Dey who has given his voice to any film.
