The much-anticipated teaser of Maari Selvaraj's 'Karnan' has just been unveiled and exceeds the expectations with the highly riveting visuals filled with symbolism. The very first shot of a headless figure with the sun filling its head underlines the title character Karnan's possible connection with the mythological hero.

There is the other shot of an eagle swooping down and grabbing a chicken from a brood of a poor lady and she wowing that a hero will rise to avenge once again symbolic of the exploitation of the poor. Maari Selvaraj has a penchant for including animals as embodiments of human spirit and if its a dog in his celebrated 'Pariyerum Perumal' its a horse in 'Karnan' which adds to great effect.

The buildups for the hero 'Karnan' played by Dhanush ups the ante to a feverish pitch and though nothing is shown of him excepting a long shot riding a horse his intense look with a sword in hand says it all from the Best Actor National Award winner.

Santhosh Narayanan's topical background score complements the stunning visuals of Theni Easwar and the crisp editing of Selva RK. Maari Selvaraj without revealing anything much about his new film provides enough clues about a highly riveting and impactful film which is an instant sell already for producer Kalaipuli S Thanu.
