Amidst biggies like Ajith and Vijay, young Karthi will have his maiden venture Paruthi Veeran released this Pongal. Son of veteran actor Sivakumar and actor Suriya's sibling, Karthi says, “With the D-day getting closer, I am thrilled and am waiting with bated breath for the audience’s response.”

Karthi started his career as Manirathnam’s associate. He had no hesitation when Ameer picked him to don the title role of Paruthi Veeran.

“After the photo shoot, I started to prepare myself mentally and physically for the role. Ameer was very patient and described to me about my role. He convinced me that I can excel in the role.”

Coming from a family of actors, Karthi took valuable advice from his father and brother.

“Since the story of Paruthi Veeran is based around Madurai, I saw films directed by Bharathiraja and spoke to those in the locality and understood the way Tamil is being spoken there.”

Giving credit to Ameer, Karthi says that the director transformed him totally during the shooting. He taught him the nuances of body language.

“All credit goes to Ameer for bring the actor out of me,” Karthi says with humility.
