Amidst the upcoming elections, Kollywood is facing a dry spell with no notable releases. As a result, theatres are resorting to re-releasing old films to keep business going. Karthi and Tamannaah's evergreen film, 'Paiyaa', is the latest addition to this re-release trend. The re-release date is officially revealed now.

'Paiyaa' is a romantic action adventure film revolving around the road travel of the lead pair. Directed by Lingusamy, it became a trendsetting movie in Tamil cinema with a chartbuster album by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film was released on this day in 2010. Lingusamy unveiled the re-release poster today officially marking the movie's 14th release anniversary.

The digitally remastered version of 'Paiyaa' is all set for re-release on April 11 all over the state for a special festive occasion of Tamil New Year. It is worth mentioning that Lingusamy gave a stylish makeover to Karthi in this film, redefining the actor's 'Paruthiveeran' image. This news is now doing rounds on the internet. The remastered version is expected to have a digital premiere after the re-release as well.
