Director Karthick Naren had made his debut in Tamil cinema in 2016 with the movie Dhuruvangal 16 and after the success of the movie had completed another movie Naragasooran starring Arvind Swami, Shriya and Sundeep kishan.

However the movie faced financial issues and is yet to release. Another movie Naadaga Medai announced by Karthick also didn't take off. However now he has completed Mafia starring Arun Vijay and Prasanna which has released today and on the occasion Karthick has posted a tweet for his father.

Karthick Naren tweeted "Appa❤️ .. Thank you for teaching me how to be a better person. I was able to come out of my darkest phase(yet) just because of the values you have taught me. Forever grateful❤️". Karthick Naren is next directing Dhanush's 43rd movie for Sathyajyothi films.
