The super star of Kannada cinema Upendra rushed to the house of Kashinath residence in Jayanagar on hearing the death of his mentor. Kashinath was my ‘Guru’ and ‘his house was like temple to me’. I miss him very much. I have learnt so many things in my life working in his camp in the initial days of my career – Upedra was bit emotional in his address outside Sri Shankara Hospital where Kashinath was declared dead.

Another director, music director, writer and actor V Manohar remembered six years of his stay in the house of Kashinath and saluted the legend. Kichcha Sudeep, Shivarajakumar and many others paid respect to Kashinath who is part of four decades of Kannada cinema industry.

At Mysuru Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah expressed his shock at the death news of Kashinath. He remembered his distinct films and said he had watched a few films in his early days.

As the 67 years Kashinath breathed last at 7.30 am on Thursday morning, the film industry personalities, Kannada Film Directors Association reached his residence to pay last respect.

Kashinath left behind his wife Chandraprabha, daughter Amruthavarshini and son Alok.

Body of Kashinath was kept for public to pay homage at APS College grounds. In the evening it was shifted to residence in Jayanagar 3rd block. At Chamrajpet cremation ground the cremation was held in Madhwa tradition.
