Khushbu Sundar is one of the favorite actresses of the South Indian audience who is still very much in demand for roles. She has also been a strong voice for women and is serving as a senior leader in the National ruling party BJP .

Khushbu has now opened up about the abuses she experienced during her childhood in an interview with Barkha Dutt. The evergreen actress revealed the shocking pain of being physically and sexually abused since the age of eight. The pervert who did the unthinkable to her was none other than her own father,

The 'Chinna Thambi' actress added that the exploitation continued till the age of 15. The fear of other members of the family getting abused kept her mouth shut even though she was abused since she was eight. At 15 she took the bold step of speaking against her father and he finally left the family and was never seen again.

Khusbhu related the tragic pain her mother and siblings went through in the hands of her animal like father. The bold actress who is now the head of National Commission for Women.reminds us that such abuses can leave many scars, both mentally and physically, and these scars will haunt them for the rest of their lives.

Khushbu is now happily married to leading filmmaker Sundar C for over two decades and has two daughter Avantika and Anandita. She has shown the way for many girls who have sufferred abuse the way to fight hard and come up in life.
