King Charles III made a rare public appearance on Sunday, attending the royal family's traditional Easter Sunday service at St. George's Chapel.

King Charles, 75, walked to church with his wife Camilla, the Queen Consort, during one of his first public outings following the announcement that he had been treated for cancer at the beginning of the year. The royal couple appreciated the congregation and workers, as well as all the members of the public who had come to the service. Buckingham Palace said Queen Consort Camjson wore a green Anna Valentine dress with a Philip Treacy hat and an emerald and diamond brooch previously owned by Queen Elizabeth II.

The royal attendance at the Easter Mattins Service was lower than usual, with the absence of Prince William and his wife Kate, along with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Kate, 42 years old, informed me this month that she is facing the diagnosis of cancer and has already started the preventive course of chemotherapy, which would require a family distancing order. She was asking for private space for the family in a video statement as she underwent treatment and expressed her wish to return to royal duties after recovery.

Kate's last public appearance had been on Christmas Day with William and their children at Sandringham. She pulled back from public duties after planned abdominal surgery in mid-January until at least Easter—a timescale further extended because of her cancer diagnosis. William is also refraining from public duties until later in April to support his family.
