Seldom, we come across a movie made on a father's amorous love in upbringing their kids in Tamil cinema. The last was 'Thavamai Thavamirundhu'. Cheran, the director delved deep into the heart of a doting father and his sacrifices for the children. The film acclaimed rave reviews for its portrayal of realistic emotions and was laurelled by critics and audiences alike.

Now two such movies are ready to hit the screens - 'Varanam Aayiram' and 'Abhiyum Naanum'. The former starring Suriya in dual roles is directed by Goutham Menon. Talking about the film, Goutham said it is my tribute to my father, who passed away recently. The story comes of the bonding relation that is between a father and son, both played by Suriya.

Radha Mohan, maker of 'Mozhi' is now directing Abhiyum Naanum featuring Prakash Raj and Trisha. The affectionate father-daughter's way of life and the intrusions that come along forms the plot. In the line is Jaggubhai that prevails around the same theme starring Sarath Kumar and Shriya. A father's search for his beloved daughter carries the movie onwards.

It seems Kollywood is now is a Daddy spree.
