While the artistes fraternity from Kanyakumari to Kashmir are going behind commercial products here is a praise worthy work done by Kannada film actor Ramesh Aravind in accepting to be a ambassador for Karuna Trust 'Manasa' that is working for the uplift of women and children in depressed condition in life. The Karuna Trust set up by Right to Livelihood award winner Padmashri Dr.H. Sudarshan has been doing yeomen service for the poor and needy in the society. The trust's new formation 'Manasa' headed by Ms Usha Shetty is working for the eradication of begging. Among the objectives of the trust giving treatment to mentally retarded beggars who are left at large is of top most importance.

Working for the cause of such thoughts is my responsibility too says Ramesh Aravind.

A 'Manasa Grama' will be set up in a village near Mysore to give necessary medical aid for mentally ill patients who are neglected in the society.

In Mysore city 'Shakthi Dhama' is functioning in an admirable way. This was set up by Dr.Rajkumar and Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar for the women in distress. 'Shakthi Dhama' has been able to give proper training to women to be self reliant.
