Labor Party selects Hyderabadi Uday Nagaraju to contest UK Parliament elections

The UK's main opposition Labour Party has recently announced a series of measures aimed at regaining the support of the British Indian community, which has been declining in recent years. These measures include organizing trips to India and hiring community volunteers.

British Indians, who constitute the second-largest immigrant group in the UK and the largest minority-ethnic group, have traditionally supported the Labour Party, with nearly two-thirds of them backing the party for years.

In a significant development, a child from Telangana, Uday Nagaraju, has been selected to contest in the UK Parliament elections as a candidate for the Labour Party. Uday, hailing from Shanigaram village in Koheda mandal of joint Karimnagar district, has been chosen to contest from the newly formed North Bedfordshire constituency. His selection underscores the growing importance of the British Indian community in UK politics.

Uday Nagaraju has a remarkable background, having pursued his PG in Governance from the prestigious University College of London. He has gained recognition as an international speaker and writer, with a keen understanding of field-level issues. He has actively participated in various community activities, including door-to-door campaigns, which has provided him with insights into the challenges faced by the common man.

As the anti-government sentiment grows in the UK, the Labour Party's prospects in the next elections have improved. This has led to a surge in demand and competition for Labour Party parliamentary tickets.

Uday Nagaraju is known for his expertise in policy development and innovation. He runs a think tank and advises on policy matters, in addition to lecturing at universities and international organizations. He has also conducted training programs for Indian-origin Labour Party members, aiming to groom them for future leadership roles, including becoming MPs.

It is worth noting that Uday Nagaraju is related to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao and ex-Rajya Sabha MP Captain Lakshmikantha Rao, adding to his political lineage and experience.
