'Liger' has many casting calamities in it. Audiences are not liking so many choices made by Puri Jagannadh. Getup Srinu, Ali, Vish, Chunky Panday and the other Panday... Nobody is liking any of them. Barring Vijay Deverakonda, Ramya Krishna and Ronit Roy, almost every performer in the film is seen as a bad choice.

But the biggest blunder seems to be the decision to cast Mike Tyson. When the trailer was out, most audience members believed that Tyson's track would be there in the pre-interval phase or immediately post-interval to rev up the mood using the cameo. Much to their shock, they found that the Tyson-Vijay track comes in the climax.

And there is no seriousness to the pointless special appearance. It's all comical and random.

Puri and Karan Johar miscalculated it grossly the day they chose Tyson. Tyson is a legend but you are making 'Liger' for the Indian audience. At best, you have to use him for a 5-minute non-climax stretch for entertainment or to make the mood earnest, depending on the nature of the scene.

Puri has portrayed Tyson in such a way that, those who don't know Tyson are believing that he is some forgotten veteran comedian. He could have cast a Johny Lever and the impact would have been no better.
