Director of this acclaimed Madhavan movie critical!

Popular Marathi director Nishikant Kamat, who has direct movies in Tamil and Hindi as well, has been admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad. It has been revealed that the director has been suffering from liver cirrhosis, and now is quite critical and is undergoing treatment.

Nishikant made his debut as a director with the Marathi movie Dombivali Fast, which was remade in Tamil as Evano Oruvan starring Madhavan. The critically acclaimed movie had Madhavan playing a middle-class bank employee Sridhar fighting corruption.

Nishikant directed several Hindi films, like Mumbai Meri Jaan with Irrfan Khan and Madhavan, Force, the remake of Suriya - Gautham Menon combo's Kaakha Kaakha starring John Abraham, Genelia and Vidyut Jammwal, Drishyam starring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran and Tabu, Rocky Handsome starring John Abraham and Shruti Haasan and Madaari starring Irrfan Khan. Nishikant was working on his next directorial Darbadar, which was scheduled for a 2022 release.
