Bollywood's major hit "Main Hoon Na" has won nods for Allan Amin for best action and Sabu Cyril for art direction at the technical awards announced by the first ever Global Indian Film Awards here.

The festival organisers said Abbas Tyrewala and Vishal Bharadwaj won the best screenplay award for the film "Maqbool". Aditya Chopra's "Veer Zaara" won the honour for best story.

Kunal Kohli, who was in Dubai for the ceremony, bagged the award for best dialogues for "Hum Tum" while best cinematography went to Christopher Popp for "Lakshya".

Rameshwar Rhagat bagged the editing award for "Dhoom".

The best costume category saw some nail-biting moments with top designers Manish Malhotra, Neeta Lulla and Vikram Phadnis as nominees. The suspense ended with Phadnis winning for "Mujhse Shaadi Karoge".

Interestingly, most nominees were unaware that the list of winners had been given out to the press at a news conference here.

Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor are top contenders for the main acting awards that are yet to be announced.
