Recently, a huge uproar ensued after Nupur Sharma made comments against Prophet Muhammad during a Times Now debate. She was suspended from party membership the other day because of unprecedented drama by a few intolerant countries.

On Tuesday, the BJP reportedly issued fresh guidelines that its spokespersons and leaders must follow while appearing on TV or interacting with the media. From now on, only authorized people who have the approval of the party's media department can speak on behalf of the party as spokespersons. And no spokie can indulge in passing comments on any religion. Comments on religious heads are completely prohibited.

Even in the face of provocation, BJP spokies must not get provoked. Always, the party line has to be adhered to.

The guidelines are expected to embarrass BJP's critics. If BJP's spokespersons and leaders start focusing more on the NDA government's welfare policies in TV debates, the opposition can be easily silenced, the party's supporters feel.
