Mani Ratnam is one of the most respected director's in Indian cinema who with his body of works has elevated Tamil cinema to the global levels.  After a debacle in the form of 'Kaatru Veliyidai' starring Karthi the ace filmmaker came back with a massive blockbuster hit 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' starring Simbu, Arvind Swamy, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Vijay Sethupathi.  

The multiple national and international award winner has now moved on to his dream project 'Ponniyin Selvan' a two part historical epic starring Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Prabhu.  However the project has been stalled due to the coronavirus outbreak with half the shooting done for the first part and the team is raring to resume soon.

Meanwhile Suhasini Mani Ratnam has delighted fans by allowing fans to interact directly with Mani Ratnam which has never happened in the past.  She has written on her social media page "Hi friends.
