If you were wondering what Mani Ratnam was up to post bilingual 'Raavanan', here's some good news... The director who was a few days back spotted on the coasts of Kerala is all set to go ahead with his next venture, and yes it belongs to the romantic genre.

But the director, in this flick, might have something more to convey than just romance. Sources in the know have revealed that Mani Ratnam is amassing a team for his next film which will have the coastal area as its backdrop. The scripting for this film is reported to have been penned by Jayamohan, who has inked scripts for 'Angadi Threu' as well as 'Naan Kadavul'.

The ace director is also believed to have roped in Rajiv Menon for cinematography. Remember 'Bombay' and the vast spread of blue seas culminating at the sky blues? This next offering from Mani Ratnam is believed to focus on a love story in a fishing clan. The director who has dealt with a number of national issues in his film seems to be focusing on the problems of Indian fishermen at foreign seas.

We will let you into more of this once the film is officially announced and gets going...
