Thalapathy Vijay is known has portrayed cop characters in an exemplary manner in his blockbuster films like  'Pokkiri' and 'Theri'.

Sometimes the role of an actor reaches beyond the veil of the silver screen to inspire real life achievements. One such endearing case is the story of the 21 year old Stephen, a mentally challenged youngster who aspired to become a police officer after watching his favourite heroes Vijay and Suresh Gopi in their cop  movies.

When Stephen’s family recently visited Chennai from Quatar, his father Rajeevan requested the Commissioner of Police, Chennai to help actualise his son's dream of becoming a police officer for a day.

Following the Commissioner’s permission, Stephen was dressed up to the nines in a cop’s uniform studded with two stars. Assistant Commissioner of Police Vincent Raj and Inspector Suriyalingam received Stephen from his residence and seated him in the Sub-Inspector’s chair for a while in the Ashok Nagar police station, following which he was also made to participate in the routine patrol for the day in an official police vehicle.

Rajeevan's family conveyed their gratitude to the police officials for actualising Stephen's dreams of being a police officer. No doubt this heartwarming story will elevate the respect for such actors and youngsters who take up boldly on their dreams.
