With the much awaited by-polls for the R.K.Nagar constituency scheduled on December 21, one could say that political parties are on a war footing. Bharatiya Janata Party’s Karu Nagarajan, AIADMK’s Madhusudhanan, DMK’s Maruthuganesh and Naam Tamilar Katchi’s Kalaikottudhayam have already filed their nominations.

In addition to these candidates, the nephew of Tamil Nadu’s famed former Chief Minister M.G.Ramachandran is set to file nomination today for contesting the R.K.Nagar polls. Son to MGR's brother M.G.Chakrapani, M.C.Chandrasekhar is set to contest as an independant candidate who will file a nomination today at 12.30 pm at the same time at which actor Vishal is expected to file his nomination as well.

In addition to this, TTV Dinakaran and Deepa are also contesting these elections as an independant candidates.
