'Kuniyamma'- Her only son was everything for this sixty plus year old lady. When her son, an intellectual, who in a short while became a rebel, was sentenced for taking part in terrorist activities, she was more than agitated. And when the news came out that he was sent to the gallows, this mother loses her mental balance. Kuniyamma, never believing in the stories about her son's death, goes far and wide in search of his son.

In this rebellious travel, she sees much of the real life, which brings her back to her days with her loving son. Veteran actress Sukumari is playing the crucial role of Kuniyamma , an old woman in this film 'Mizhikal Saakshy' , around whom the movie revolves. The character of Kuniyamma will be the best among the two thousand odd roles that this veteran character artist had ever been in. Routed to be one of the hard hitting stories, the movie will unfold with ample amount of sentiments and investigation.

Director Asokh R. Nath, who had a disastrous last film in December, is back on his path of creating meaningful, critically acclaimed cinema with this movie. `Mizhikal Saakshy' is scripted by Anil Mukhathala, who is a famous name among tele -serial workers and professional drama troupes. When Mohanlal heard about this script based on the deep, love between a son and his mother, he was more than interested to appear in the role, a cameo for this movie.

Mohanlal plays the role of the anti social element, the only son of Kuniyamma, who gets sentenced to death .The others in the casts includes Krishna Prasad, Nedumudi Venu, Jagathi Sreekumar, Kochu Preman and Vijayraghavan.

The other highlight of the movie is Dakshinamoorthy, who is providing music for a film after 20 years. The movie will have Gaana Gandharvan Yesudas singing in the lyrics of O N V Kurup. The coming together of these three great figures of Malayalam music, to create the four songs of the movie, will be a definite high point. Two of the most accomplished female singers in Indian Cinema itself - S. Janaki and K.S. Chithra will also be part of the music of the movie.

'Mizhikal Saakshy' will be cinematographed by veteran Ramachandra Babu. A bunch of new comers will debut in the technical departments, including the makeup man Okkal das, costumer Rana Prathap and art director Paavumba Manoj.
