Modi wears a veshti to impress Tamilians

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today received visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tamil Nadu. He and his Chinese counterpart were seen touring the Shore Temple in Mahabalipuram.

What caught everyone's attention was the PM's dhoti. The Tamil Nadu veshti, shawl and shirt are refreshing on the PM. "It's a good idea that Modi chose to wear attire that is culturally relevant. Tamilians will surely like it," a Twitter user says.

Modi showed Xi the Panch Rathas complex and Arjuna's Penance personally. They were seen drinking coconut water on the occasion. The soft power of India gets projected because of such visits.
