Director Ravichandran of 'Kannadhire Thondrinal' and 'Majnu' fame is expected to make a strong comeback with another tale of love and friendship titled as 'Natpadhigaram 79'. As the title suggests the film has friendship between two youngsters and their respective love lives as its crux. The chapter dealing with Friendship is the 79th chapter in Thirukkural and the director cites this as the reason behind the film's title.
One of the male leads of the film is Raj Bharath, son of producer director Malliyam Rajagopal who has made super hit films like 'Savale Samali' with Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan and J.Jayalalitha. Raj Bharath who has earlier acted in supporting roles in Tamil films '555' and 'Onaayum Aatukuttiyum' has been elevated as the lead hero in the film. Amzath who acted in a supporting role in 'Vallinam' and as the villain in 'Maya' is another male lead of the film.
Noted Telugu actress Tejaswini Madivada makes her Tamil debut playing the love interest of Raj in the film while Reshmi Menon is the heroine playing Amzath's pair.
'Natpadhigaram 79' has been produced by J.Ravikumar under the Jayam Cine Entertainment banner. Musical score has been rendered by Deepak Nilambur while Cinematography is by R.B.Gurudev. National award winning Editor V.J.Sabu Joseph is also a part of the technical crew,
