India has been reeling with the current crisis caused by the COVID 19. Not only are we battling with this virus but also, various other infections and diseases caused by this infectious virus like Black Fungus and so on. Social media is literally flooded with stories and posts of oxygen requirements, hospital beds with ventilators etc. Even people having the mildest of symptoms are panicking and are advised to quatantine themselves at their own homes due to the lack of availability of beds in hospitals.

Amidst such situation, a social media user uploaded a story on his instagram handle which shows an elderly woman making rotis for her family in the kitchen with full oxygen support. The picture was uploaded with a caption saying “Unconditional Love = *Mother* She is never off duty”. The picture has already led to resentment from other social media users with various kinds if reactions.

Among these Netizens, "Moodar Koodam" fame Tamil filmmaker and producer Naveen uploaded a screenshot of that instagram story and uploaded onto his twitter handle and also tweeted that it is not “love” but “slavery” in the name of social structure. He also added a popular dialogue from his film which would insist a character to “feel shameful” for something he did, "Ithukku namma vekka padanum Senraayan," the tweet read.

The tweet instantly became viral and many people retweeted it supporting the stance of the Tamil filmmaker. Some of the aggravated replies included, “Just want to make people aware, oxygen near gas stove is way too dangerous, it can explode, please avoid oxygen cylinders, tubing near gas stove” and “So her husband/kids won’t even cook for her when she is on an oxygen machine?! “She’s never off duty”. Really?! What patriarchal entitlement!” said a twitterati.
