Though Mayakkannadi has done enough to establish Navya Nair as successful actress in Tamil cinema, the conferment of Kalaimamani has done her a world of good.

A thrilled Navya Nair, says, “I thank the State government for selecting me for this great honor. I thank all my producers and directors, who had given enough opportunities in Kollywood. I got an opportunity to do varied roles so early in my career”.

Navya Nair is shooting for a Kannada movie in Bangalore. She is playing a blind woman in a Tamil movie titled Kangal Marapathillai and a Malayalam movie to be directed by Renjith.

Navya says, “Kangal Marapathilai is an off-beat story and I am hopeful of getting a few awards after the movie”.

She also denied rumors that she is aversed to do glamour roles. “If it is within limits and forms part of the storyline, I have no hesitation in doing glamour roles”, she adds
