Neena Gupta had to do rubbish films to make ends meet

Actress Neena Gupta has become a top choice for casting directors after her phenomenal performance in 'Badhaai Ho'. However, her filmography before that project is quite obscure. The actress had to work on films which did no justice to her skills and ability as she didn't couldn't afford to reject film offers. There are several films which she regrets working on and cringes whenever she watches herself acting in them. "Earlier I used to do films that I prayed would never see the light of day. I played badly-written characters because I had no work," Neena says.

Talking more about the rubbish films she was forced by circumstances to do, Neena says, "On television, I’ve never done anything that I’ve not liked. But there I could choose. With films, I needed the money so I had to do such rubbish work, you can’t imagine. There is this one film that comes a lot on TV and I cringe when I see myself in it. So yes, now I have a responsibility and I’m quite clear in my head about what I like and what I don’t want to portray.”

She will soon be seen in a grey role alongside Manoj Bajpayee in the thriller flick 'Dial 100'.
