Nikhil Siddhartha has said that he has been haunted by the brutal murder of Pranay, the 24-year-old Dalit husband of Amrutha Varshini, whose father has murdered him in an instance of honour killing in Telangana.

"Haunted by the brutal murder of Pranay Kumar. The punishment (to the culprit) should be exemplary. Nobody should dare to even moot an honour killing. Every human is equal. Rest in Pease Pranay brother," the 'Mudra' actor has said.

Meanwhile, Amrutha has said that she will continue to fight against casteism. "It's casteism that has killed Pranay," she said. The youngster is up against her father. It was she who first said that only her father has the capability to eliminate Pranay.
