An official from production house UTV, producers of the much-awaited Aamir Khan starrer Rang De Basanti, has said that there is no problem anticipated from the defense ministry or top defense officials for the release of the film, which is due for release on the 20th of January worldwide. "There is no problem at all. The censor board had just said to show it (the film) to the Defense ministry, and that's about it. There's no real issue."

When asked if a main part of the storyline being given in the story would hurt the film, the official said, "Not at all. There's much more to the film's story." Reportedly, somewhere along the film, it touches upon the lives of air force pilots and the dangers they encounter because they are forced to use equipment bought as a result of crooked purchase deals.

As a result of a crooked defense deal, the young pilot friend (Madhavan) of Aamir Khan and his friends dies in an air crash, and thereafter, Aamir and his friends take upon themselves the mantle of removing the root cause of the corruption that caused their friend's death they shoot the defense minister dead.

Whether the film is finally altered in any way after the preview by the defense officials, or if the revelation of a key part of the storyline has any effect on the film's performance at the turnstiles, only time will tell. The film's release date of 20 th Jan is not too far away anyways.
