Some feminist critics have rightly called out the misogynistic attitudes subtly stuffed in Sandeep Vanga's 'Arjun Reddy'. The male lead (played by Vijay Devarakonda) objectifies "fat chicks" and shamelessly says in another scene that objectifying women is disgusting.

Actually, there is more to Arjun Reddy's spoilt brat self.

His mentality reflects the contempt that some upper-class and rich guys have towards middle-class folks and the poor. They behave as if the latter were born to either serve them or entertain them (the rich). That's why Arjun Reddy, the rich brat, tells Preethi to choose as her friend someone who can be loyal. So, this middle-class "fat chick" whom Arjun Reddy cherry-picks was born to be loyal to his girl friend.

In another scene, Arjun Reddy is seen chiding two juniors (both males, so no outrage by feminists) for failing to take care of his girl friend on Holi. Now, these boys are shown as hailing from humble backgrounds, as their dressing and timid body language shows. Once again, another instance that brings out the protagonist's disrespectful attitude towards those who are financially inferior.

You must have come across such characters in your school/colleges. Haven't you?
