Pannaiyarum Padminiyum

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Tamil Comments

Feb 7 will be the day when Pannaiyar's love for his automobile Padmini car will be revealed to the world. There has been a lot of talk about the car with its presence recently in the Padmini Heritage rally across the city as well, so finally we get to see about the simplicity onscreen.

Firstly this is a short film being remade into a mainstay movie, and similar to KSY it will be interesting how a full length plot has been woven out of a small tale.Arunkumar the debut director has promised a light hearted tale of an old man and his impeccable love for his premier car. The chauffeur of the car is Vijay Sethupathy and playing Pannaiyar is Jayaprakash.

The short film won the hearts of many for its light hearted portrayal, a justified piece of attachment to the car from the old man and his chauffeur, so the theme is poised with unconditional love and everyone expects Arun to keep his word. The movie will also sport a matured love between an old man and his wife, something which Tamil Cinema has been missing to show for quite a while.

VijaySethupathy who rather had a rough time with Rummy will be looking forward to give a fitting response in this movie as his star base continues to expand over the recent times. Jayaprakash as calm as he is ever looks apt for the role of a Pannaiyar. Other cast includes Aishwarya, Neelima, Tulasi etc.

The trailer spawns a feel of nativity in it, and looks like there are no qualms of heavy scenes in this movie. Even the music seems to be having composed in a sweet manner with a lot of bit songs that should get going once the movie is released, kudos to Justin the composer.

Ok hop on to the Padmini car, should be a family entertainer! Well, wait for it!
