Pawan Kalyan is never the one to constrict his focus to the immediate issue at hand. Call it his strength or weakness, this has been his way. The two songs from the album 'Desh Bachao' released till now say it all.

In 'Naaraju Gakurama', a remix of the song from 'Johnny', the suicide of Rohith Vemula and the arrest of Kanhaiya Kumar of Jawaharlal Nehru University are referred to. But how are these events related to the demand for Special Category Status for AP?

As is known, the song was conceived by Pawan, the director of 'Johnny', when he was disturbed by the burning of 59 Hindus (most of them women and children) in Godhra way back in 2002. "The burning of 'karsevaks' and the communal riots that followed left a deep impression in me. The lyrics were written by the Telangana Dalit poet Mastarji," Pawan says.
