Exclusively from Tamil film industry 12 films too competed in it and many films bagged awards too. Of them Karthik Subbaraju bagged the special jury award. The award was presented through the hands of Amitabh Bachchan to Karthik Subbaraju.

Later, Karthik Subbaraju says, 'I am very happy for bagging an award, that too through the hands of Amitabh. Likewise, our film was watched by Rajanikant yesterday and complimented me over phone. That compliment is an experience which I can never forget in my lifetime.’ The film had created a record with the sale of the remake rights in Kannada, and in Hindi and Telugu for dubbing rights, at a fancy rate.
