Popular Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar, who has won the hearts of fans with her tremendous performance in several movies, is all set to welcome a baby through adoption. On Thursday, the actress revealed that she has signed up as a prospective adoptive parent with the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) and she is currently on a waiting list.

In one of her interviews, Swara expressed the desire of the family and the child and also explained how many millions of children live in our country as orphans. She has not only initiated the adoption process but has also met many couples who have adopted the child. “I’ve always wanted a family and children. I realized adoption was a way to marry these things. Luckily in India, the state allows single women to adopt. I met many couples who have adopted children, met some children who were adopted and are now almost adults. I read up on the process and experience.” said the Raanjhana actress in an interview with Mid- Day.

She further said, “I also spoke to some officials at CARA who were very helpful and helped me understand the process. Finally after all this research, I spoke to my parents, who eventually agreed and are now fully supportive of my decision. I completed all the formalities and I am now a PAP on CARA. I know the waiting period is long- often as long as 3 years but I cannot wait to be a parent to a child by adoption.”

On the work front Swara was last seen in several OTT projects, including the Amazon Prime Video series Rasbhari, Eros Now series Flesh, and Netflix series Bhaag Beanie Bhaag. Swara will be next seen in a same-sex love story titled Sheer Qorma, which also stars Divya Dutta and Shabana Azmi. The short film has been directed by Faraz Arif Ansari and has won acclaim globally.. She also has Jahaan Chaar Yaar in her kitty.
