Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898AD faces plagiarism accusation for VFX and CGI - Details

Plagiarism has long been an issue in Indian cinema, with stories, scenes, and songs often being copied without proper credit. The latest controversy involves Prabhas's upcoming film, 'Kalki 2898AD,' which is facing accusations of plagiarism for allegedly using a CGI asset created by an independent artist without permission. This controversy has stirred discussion among fans and industry insiders.

'Kalki 2898AD,' a highly anticipated dystopian sci-fi film starring Prabhas, is set to release on June 27. The film heavily relies on set work and CGI, and its trailer was launched a few days ago and has already garnered significant attention. However, on Thursday, South Korean artist Sung Choi accused the film's makers of using his decade-old CGI artwork without his permission. This allegation has sparked a considerable buzz online, adding to the film's pre-release controversy.

The artist shared an image comparing his art and the copy in the movie and wrote, "Unauthorized use of artwork is a bad practice. I sometimes even question doing art in this lawless environment #kalki2898ad #vyjayanthimovies (sic)." His post quickly gained traction among fans and industry insiders, sparking a heated debate. However, Choi has since removed his posts from social media, leaving the situation in a state of uncertainty.
