Vijay vs Vijay on April 12th

April 12th is an auspicious movie release date as it is the Friday that precedes the Tamil New Year's day on 14th and the Good Friday and Easter on the following weekend which is a long festive holidays. As of now, director Vijay has announced that two of his films will be released on that same day.

Vijay after 'Lakshmi' started simultaneously shooting for 'Devi 2' starring Prabhu Deva, Tamannaah and Nandita Shwetha and 'Watchman' starring G.V. Prakash Kumar and Yogi Babu. Now its a rare thing in Tamil cinema to see two films of the same director clashing at the box office and it remains to be seen which one takes the honors.
