Catch Praksh Raj in a Conversation for his upcoming OTT Web Series, 'Mukhbir' and opens up on various developments in Bollywood space currently. A man with sheer talent and the history across cinema in India, the following is how our exclusive conversation with him went:

Your director has quite a bit of experience in this genre. How did he help you bring alive your character and the story?
He is a diamond. I feel he is like Murti - very clear about the details and what he wants to do. As an actor, he gives you that space and liberty to perform putting his foot down. That’s actually beautiful. He is one of those directors who let things happen organically. He doesn’t force you to go over the board or do something against your terms. He is honest when it comes to detailing and there is so much integrity in him when he is telling the story. I think by far this is his most beautiful piece of work. That’s how much he went in depth. There is so much of him in the script.

We are seeing you in quite a few OTT projects. How do you think the OTT space has evolved? And how has it benefited you?
OTT has killed a mafia. Cinema was a language which was born 100 years back, it’s a language of human beings. It's like a river which used to flow but then there were theaters, distributors, exhibitors, and you have to see only one of those spaces. I think there were too many middlemen between the audience and the creators and actors. And there was no choice for them. They had to see it through. And storytelling also was just 2.5 hours of film, there’s beginning, interval and climax, so that orientation was happening. OTT just opened up. The audience had the right to see when they want to, where they want to, it has saved their time of spending 1 hour going to the theatre, 2.5 hours sitting in the theater, coming back, the expenditure. They have a choice now, they can see a Malayalam, Korean or a Hindi film. And anybody can become a star, there's a fair field for actors. And for an actor like me who's been here for the last 3 decades, OTT is coming up with such scripts and roles which I would not have been able to venture into with my craft or with my thought process or my journey or my moments of life that I wouldn't have spent in cinema. Cinema is a different magic altogether but OTT as an actor for me is liberating, to be able to go across languages like the web series I did for ZEE5 in Tamil ‘Anantham’ or this (Mukhbir). All different projects are coming up to me, to see the detailing, the calmness and there's so much to say which we would not have said. For me, I can say that I’m reborn again and my work is getting more exciting now. I love working with so many talents across the country.
