Quentin Tarantino has broken his silence in an interview to Deadline and has stated that he regretted not double checking the road in which Uma Thurman drove the car and crashed as he had thought it was a straight road but then it had a curve.  He admitted to have been anguished when his heroine had to visit the hospital.  Regarding the spitting controversy he maintains that he had to do it because he couldnt let any other crew member and the actress was okay with it.  Similarly the choking scene too he had done with her permission but now on afterthought feels that it was too real and he understands her pain.
