Mollywood superstar Mohanlal's 'Oppam' directed by his longtime friend Priyadarshan has released yesterday as a grand Onam festival release. The film in which Lal has played a visually impaired middle-aged man entangled in a murder mystery has been getting positive reviews from all corners and is expected to create new box office records.

Now here is a surprising information as to who is the first person to watch the film in Tamil Nadu. It is none other than Superstar Rajinikanth. Yes, Priyadarshan arranged a special screening of the film to our much loved Superstar at the latter's residence in Chennai.

Sources say that Rajinikanth was so eager to watch the film after he heard about the film from Priyadarshan who has given many memorable super hits with Mohanlal but has never worked with Rajinikanth though he has directed a few Tamil films.

Rajinikanth acted in a character of his age in his recent blockbuster 'Kabali' and he has teamed up with the same director Pa. Ranjith for another film. This hints that the Superstar has decided to do more films which will match his age. It will also be really good to see the Superstar in a thriller flick after a long time.

Will he give his nod to take up the lead role if 'Oppam' is remade in Tamil? Lets wait and watch.
