"Raktdhar" director Ajit Verma says the upcoming film is not just based on highlighting the issue of the third gender, but an amalgamation of women and third gender empowerment as they both struggle for their rights.
"'Raktdhar' is not solely based on highlighting the issue of the third gender. It is an amalgamation of women's empowerment and third gender empowerment as both the genders are struggling for their rights equally. If society can't even give equal rights to women, there is very slim chance for our transgenders," Verma said in a statement.
"Women are still fighting for their rights while there are no rights for transgender. This film also talks about the issues women have to deal with day-to-day life. The leading ladies of the film face problems in their married lives and love lives as inferior to the male gender," he added.
The film's trailer gives a glimpse into the story about love, political revenge and Shakti's struggle in society and the world of politics as he fights to take control and help his community.
It features Mukesh Rishi, Shahbaaz Khan, Ehsaan Khan, Deepsikha Naagpal, Manish Khanna, Jimmy Sharma and Sanchita Banerjee.
Jointly produced by Dhananjay Dhawan Patil and Rajan Gupta under the banner Chitra Films, "Rakhtdhar" is scheduled to release on October 6.
