Heres why Ram Gopal Varma wont cast Shahrukh or Salman in his movies

Ram Gopal Varma is a unique filmmaker with his own style. He has directed some of the finest films about organised crime and such. He has classics like 'Satya' and 'Sarkar' to his name which has earned him the reputation he has today. RGV will soon be out with another crime drama and fans are quite excited to witness it. The film titled 'D Company' will tell the story of notorious monster, Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar's criminal outfit of the same name. It will show how a boy from the slums of Mumbai became the most wanted man on the face of earth.

However, it is noticeable that the cast of 'D Company' doesn't have single famous actor in it. The director explained why he refrained from casting big names in such films. He said, "Genre films might get a bigger audience if you cast stars, but that’s at the expense of not being honest to the film. In Satya, for example, in 1997, had Shah Rukh or Salman both played Bhiku Mhatre or Satya’s roles, I don’t think it would have been the same film. Even if it worked, it might have worked for different reasons since stars work anyway, but, it wouldn’t have remained the same film because they’d have looked very different. Both Satya and Bhiku Mhatre looked very believable, I could easily believe these guys lived in the chawls or dirty bylanes, which would’ve never looked believable had Shah Rukh and Salman played those parts.
