In spite of his debut venture in Tamil clicking at the box-office, this director could not see offers coming his way. He migrated to the Kannada film industry and rendered a couple of hits. Now after almost 14 years, he returns back to Tamil screen to wield the megaphone.

The director is Radha Bharathy, whose maiden Tamil venture was Vaikasi Poranthachu, which introduced actor Prashanth to the silver screen.

The director is currently working on a film Katrulla Varai. The movie is about the struggles and hardships that a girl faces to become an actress in filmdom. Jai Akash would be playing the hero in the movie and acting opposite to him is actress Pranathi. While Jai Akash is still hoping to make a name for himself in Tamil film industry, Pranathi has made her presence felt in just a couple of movies, Gambheeram and 4 Students.

Radha Bharathi remade the Tamil blockbuster Vanathaipolae in Kannada. The movie collected huge revenue at the box-office and he became a name to reckon with in Kannada filmdom.

Katrulla Varai will go to the floors this month.

Vijayakumar, Vadivelu, R Sundararajan, Vennira Aadai Moorthy, Delhi Ganesh, Ambika, Keerthana are also in the cast.

Kichchas has cranked the camera while music is being scored by Bharani.

It is said that this movie would throw light on few harsh realities in filmdom.

A film on exposing evils in filmdom is a brave attempt indeed.
