As was reported yesterday, Samantha has filed a defamation suit against two YouTube channels (Suman TV and Telugu Popular TV) and gastroenterologist Dr CL Venkat Rao. Rao, who is not known to many, recently put out a 13-minute rant making pro-Akkineni family statements and casting aspersions on Samantha's character.

In the video, which has now become highly controversial, Rao is seen claiming that he knew the legendary ANR personally. He is heard saying that Naga Chaitanya's nature is admired by everyone. "There is a view that Samantha's decision is hasty. Everyone believes that she has done wrong," Rao says in the video after comparing Naga Chaitanya with Lord Rama. "Chaitanya is soft-natured and quite polite," he adds.

By filing a defamation suit against Rao, the 'Majili' and 'Jaanu' actress may well have taken the fight against propaganda directly to the doorsteps of a self-proclaimed acquaintance of Chaitanya's grandfather.

The additional district court at Kukatpally will hear the petition today. Watch this space!
