P. V. Ravi an erstwhile associate of director Lingusamy is coming up with a film titled 'Mahesh, Saranya Matrum Palar'. The director has now confessed that he had originally planned to have the name as 'Mahesh, Sandhya Matrum Palar'. But then when actress Sandhya was roped in to play the lead role, he wanted to change the character's name to Saranya which inevitable caused the name change.

Sandhya plays a singer in the film and the hero Sakthi plays a college student. Obviously, there is love in the air. 'The movie handles the love element quite differently' says the director. 'We have hitherto seen love affairs create storms within the concerned households. But my film has the families considering the love element as a boon. I am sure this will bring about a refreshing change'.

The film also has Saranya Mohan (did she influence the present name?) and Keerthi Chawla in a guest performance.

The film does not feature any character with villainous intent. Will this movie find favor with Tamil audiences? We'll know very soon as the film is slated for a September release.
