Sangeetha is very careful in picking her roles. The actress, who shot to fame with Pithamagan and her strong portrayal in director Samy's Uyir, won her mixed reviews.

Now she is shooting busy for Dhanam, a heroine oriented film.

The shooting is currently on at Hyderabad at a hectic pace. After a 30-day stint there, the unit returns to Chennai next month for the rest of the shoot. Sangeetha plays the title role in Dhanam with which G Shiva debuts as writer-director of the film. And besides other actors, include Prem who was seen on the big screen in Kalaignar's Kannamma.

Sangeetha says, “It is very rare to come across such powerful roles in Tamil cinema. Generally a heroine appears in a couple of songs in skimpy costumes and disappears. I am fortunate to do such a lengthy role in Dhanam”.
