Actress Sangeetha is beaming with joy. Her forthcoming venture 'Dhanam' featuring her in a challenging role of a Devadasi is all set for release very soon.

"I thank my directors who keep faith in my acting credentials and give me roles like I did in 'Uyir' and 'Dhanam'" , she says. 'Uyir' had Sangeetha get lustful on her brother-in-law and her performance jolted Tamil audiences.

"I have reduced the number of films I do these days. I am very choosy and keen to do good roles".

"When I did 'Uyir', I initially feared to do it", she says and adds, "It was a controversial role. But thanks to my friends, they motivated me and helped me come out with aplomb".

Speaking about 'Dhanam', she says, "I play a dasi in it. All credit should go to the cinematographer for helping me get the looks and act right. I agreed only because I wanted to be part of a project which has the likes of Jeeva, Ilayaraja among others".

"The movie should do well and satisfy critics. I have not signed any new offers as of yet".
