Sarath Kumar is playing a cameo in actor-director Cheran's Mayakkannadi. The movie featuring Cheran and Navya Nair in the lead roles went to floors early this year. For the first time, Cheran has wielded the megaphone for a film that revolves around life in the urban areas. He sports a new look with straight hairs.

Sarath Kumar has agreed to make a guest appearance in Mayakkannadi and shot a couple of days for the film. It may be recalled that Cheran penned the screenplay for Sarath Kumar's 100th film Thalaimagan.

As a token of gratitude, Sarath Kumar has agreed to do the cameo in his film.

With a major portion of the shooting over, Mayakkannadi is expected for release in February 2007.
