Filmmaker Seeman, along with hundreds of his supporters, staged a demonstration in Chennai on Thursday, demanding the Indian government to initiate steps and send back Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner Vadivel Krishnamoorthy.

The meeting was organised by ‘Naam Thamizhar’, a pro-Tamil outfit led by Seeman. In his address, the director, who is known for his “love” for Tamils, alleged that Krishnamoorthy commented recently that the camps of displaced Tamils in Lanka were not zoos to be visited by outside people.

“This is irresponsible. The Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner should be removed immediately,” he said amidst thunderous applause from the members of ‘Naam Thamizhar’ organisation.

"The Central and the State governments should understand our feelings and take steps. Only one Sri Lankan High Commissioner is enough. The Deputy High Commissioner is not needed. Therefore we, as part of Naam Thamizhar movement, have assembled here and are protesting for this cause,” he said.
