In an unexpected and unfortunate incident, young director Arun Prasath aka Venkat Pakkar passed away in a road accident in Mettupalayam near Coimbatore. His sudden death has left the whole industry in shock.

Arun Prasath was supposed to debut with the movie 4G starring GV Prakash and Gayathri Suresh, and produced by CV Kumar's Thirukumaran Entertainment but even before the release met death. Director Shankar, whom Arun had assisted earlier, has got emotional and has tweeted his condolence message.

Shankar has tweeted "Heartbroken by the sudden demise of the young director and my ex-assistant, Arun. You were always sweet, positive and hardworking. My prayers are forever with you and my deepest condolences to your family and friends.??".
